For the Spring 2021 semester, you have an opportunity to opt-in and try our new multiple-choice pre/post tests for the following Digital Clinical Experiences (DCEs) below:
- Health Assessment
- Pharmacology
- Gerontology
- Mental Health
- Leadership
- Advanced Health Assessment
We hope to create a pre/post test for our remaining DCEs by Summer 2021.
This is a no-cost opt-in program. If you decide the pre-/post tests are a good fit for your course, you can request to have them added to your assignment list- https://link.shadowhealth.com/opt-in.
Our goal is to help faculty create another objective measure of student skills throughout the course. The pre-/post tests are designed to benchmark student progress and are not meant to be used as grades. The pre-test is identical to the post-test, and students will only see their categorical scores, not the correct answers. Questions generally assess the following areas:
- Subjective Data Collection
- Objective Data Collection
- Therapeutic Communication
Some experiences may assess different areas (i.e. medication administration in Pharmacology).
Using the links below, you can preview the questions in each of the pre-/post tests:
To get the most valid results we recommend:
- Students complete at least 75% of the Shadow Health assignment in-between the pre and post-tests.
- Requiring students to wait at least 14 days between pre and post-test attempts to reduce any practice or carryover effects.
The pre-/post-test scores for your students will be available at the end of the semester upon your request.
Below is an example of where the assignments will appear in your assignment list, but they can always be moved by clicking the Edit Assignment List button
Please review this video for more information on setting up the pre-/post tests:
