How is Education & Empathy scored in assignments?
When Education & Empathy is a scored activity in an assignment, you are being scored on providing timely Education or Empathy in the exam room with the patient. Unlike the Subjective and Objective Data Collection, it matters when you perform Education & Empathy.
You will ask your patient a question and their response is a good time to provide Education or Empathy. You then have the next 2 things you say to the patient to provide the necessary Education or Empathy. For example, if you ask the patient if they're feeling pain and they say "Yes", then that's a good time for Empathy. You can either provide that Empathy right away, or you can ask one follow question before providing the Empathy to get the point.
Once you've completed the assignment and can see your Results, you can click on the Education & Empathy tab to see the available points. Clicking on each of the Education & Empathy topics will show you more information and the part of your transcript that triggers the time to provide Education or Empathy. If you see a locked icon, your instructor has chosen to delay specific feedback until the assignment's due date. You will be able to view this information after the due date for that assignment.
